Sewer and Water Bills
Sewer and water are billed together on a quarterly basis. Bills are mailed on or around the 1st of March, June, September and December and are due by the end of that month.
- Pay in person at the Tax Office at Brewer City Hall (lower level), Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We take cash and checks. We also now accept non-Visa credit and debit cards, though a convenience fee will apply. Visa rules prohibit us from accepting Visa cards in-office for water or sewer payments.
- Mail a check or money order made payable to “City of Brewer” to: Tax Office – Brewer City Hall, 80 North Main Street, Brewer, ME 04412. Please do not mail cash. Including the remit slip and/or the bill number will help ensure that we post your payment to the appropriate account.
- The Water Department does not accept payment at its offices.
Sewer: Interest is charged on unpaid sewer balances after the end of the month. Sometime 4 months to one year after a bill’s due date, the City will lien the property associated with unpaid sewer balances.
Water: Unpaid water accounts will receive a shut-off notice if the account remains unpaid 10-14 days after the end of the month.
